Hare Hill Court IT Couse Success

Hare Hill Court have been successful with their Awards For All Bid from the National Lottery. With the help of Lucy Salisbury of RoFTRA the Group which was set up and constituted last Summer, identified the need for I.T Equipment, Training and Internet within the scheme and local community.

After a Free Consultation with Paul Dixon of RoFTRA and Hare Hill Courts Secretary, Brian Sayers, on several options of equipment and training packages, one was chosen which ensured all residents who shared an interest in I.T could get the maximum for what they wanted to spend. A plan was put together with agreements from both parties for the completion of a successful bid and within 10 weeks of the application being submitted by Lucy, Hare Hill Court had been awarded £5,116.

Hare Hill Court , Littleborough have now had their first month on the IT Connect Training package using both their own newly purchased I.T equipment and up to 10 laptops provided by RoFTRA which Paul will setup before each lesson.

The Tuesday afternoon sessions are at full capacity with a wide range of age groups participating in the activities, over the past few week we have even had the grandchildren taking part with it being school holidays.

Hare Hill Court have kindly allowed local residents within the community to attend their computer classes to improve social interaction between residents and the local community and to reduce isolation which has been a great success for all concerned.

We have stared the training at the deep end learning basic IT skills then straight into using email so all students can start using electronic communications to keep in touch with family and friends around the world.

The classes for 2008/09 have grown considerably due to the RoFTRA investment of modern Training Aids like portable projectors & pull out screens so all training can be demonstrated and seen on the large screen by everyone, and up-to-date Laptops with the newsiest of operating systems prevents valuable time wasted watching the hour glass!

For more Information on these courses please telephone Paul on 01706 764815 or telephone Lucy on 01706 652361for information on the Groups.
